Door and Hardware Federation - DHF

DHF - Door & Hardware Federation

Chapel Doors have been members of DHF since 2007. The Door & Hardware Federation represents all the key manufacturers and installers of industrial, commercial, pedestrian and garage doors and powered gates, as well as manufacturers of locks, building hardware and architectural ironmongery.

The DHF provide professionals in all sectors of the building industry with a single source for technical expertise, information, knowledge, advice and practical help.

The DHF actively helps its members comply with the latest CE marking legislation and other health & safety and compliance legislation. In addition, compliance gives members the competitive edge in the market over non member companies which are yet to comply with latest CE mark regulations.

It is vital that specifiers choose a CE marked product from a DHF member. The CE mark is evidence of product safety compliance under health and safety legislation, and so it helps protect the specifier from litigation in the event of an accident occurring post installation.

ADSA - The Automatic Door Suppliers Association

Chapel Doors have been members of ADSA since 2011. Our engineers have been trained by ADSA to comply with BS 17005:2012 regulations. Automatic doors are now a normal feature of many building types, from supermarkets to airports, and from hotels to hospitals. Although they come in a variety of types, including sliding, swing, folding and revolving, what they all have in common is the need to conform to the highest standards of safety. This is where the ADSA - the Automatic Door Suppliers Association - plays a vital role.

ADSA was formed in 1985 for the purpose of ensuring that its member companies offered superior levels of safety in the supply, installation and maintenance of automatic doors.

Gate Safe

Gate Safe was set up in 2010, in the wake of the tragic deaths of two children crushed by automated gates, in separate accidents. Gate Safe - which has been commended by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) for its ‘pioneering approach’ - was established to improve the understanding of existing legislation and standards, and to offer further guidance in ‘plain english’ to aid the interpretation of what constitutes a safe gate. The charity focuses on raising awareness of the critical safety issues associated with powered gates amongst the wide range of professionals associated with these types of installations, via training and education.
